          Take 5
     Take 5 is an effort to have the new politicians enact 5 objectives within their first 60 days in office.  By achieving these 5 objectives, the new Congress will show that they have changed and that the interests of the constituents come first. 

     There are, of course, MANY more things for Congress to do and fix, but for this effort we wanted to keep it simple.  We are open to suggestions to add or replace one or more of these objectives, but at this point, these seem to be the dominant issues.
1)  Establish Term Limits & Abolishment of Congressional pension plan in favor of a 401K.

- No person can serve more than 12 years in Congress in either the Senate or the House.
- This will prevent politicians from serving 12 years in the House and then getting elected for another 12 years in the Senate.  12 years TOTAL service.  
- Serving as a politician in the Federal government should be treated like reserve duty, so they may return to their jobs after they serve their country.
2)  Establish the Fair Tax OR the Flat Income Tax Rate & Eliminate the Death Tax 

- Everybody pays the same percentage: No tax loop holes.
- Death Tax:  You pay taxes your whole life so why does the government have the right to tax what's left of your money when you die?  That's DOUBLE taxation and it's wrong!

Everybody hates taxes but since we have to pay which would you prefer; our current system, a Flat Tax or a Fair Tax.  Read the attached information and let us know what you think.

3)  Politicians must balance the budget every year and do it by due date (without raising taxes) OR they don't get paid until they do.

- A percentage of their income should be based on performance (like a bonus) and if they don't perform, then they don't get their bonus.

4)  Independence from Foreign Oil by 2020 & Establish incentives/credits for Green power development and usage.

- Enact legislation that promotes domestic companies and individuals to not only develop clean energy sources, but also use them.

5)  Enforce immigration laws immediately and Secure US Borders by 2015.

- Any state found not enforcing immigration laws should lose federal funding until they can show compliance.
- All government programs (welfare, healthcare, schooling, etc.) should only be available to US Citizens.  If you are here illegally in the US and want these services - become a citizen!
